I used warm lights to evoke a safe and homey feeling. I gave the scene soft shadows that reflect on the walls to hint that there is more beyond this room. Since I wanted the overall mood to be friendly, I decided to over enlarge some textures and objects, a common stop motion animation technique. Everything in this render was created and textured by me except for the sword.
