Lantern Ceremony

A scene in Unreal Engine that evokes a sense of suspension and horror.   

My process

  • Created concept image by compiling reference images in Photoshop
  • Assembled the scene in Unreal with free assets from the Marketplace 
  • Set up the camera to match the perspective of the mockup
  • Modeled the lanterns in Maya and export to Unreal
  • Imported the character hanging in the background from Mixamo
  • Set up the environmental lights, atmospheric fog and lantern lights
  • Animated the lanterns, character and camera
  • Rendered via camera sequencer
